The SKYWIND™ wind cone assembly manufactured by SKYTECH provides clear visual indication of surface wind direction and speed for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, on both regional airstrips and major international airports.
Technical Specifications
Wind Cone Fabric: SKYWIND™ is manufactured using high-grade industrial nylon fabric treated for extreme weather resistance, UV radiation protection, and water repellency. Available in international orange (FED STD-595 12197) or white/orange striped. Custom logo printing available on demand.
Mast Assembly: The main mast is constructed from structural steel with corrosion-resistant electrostatic powder coating. Frangible coupling included for flight safety compliance.
- L-807: 5.5 m (18 ft) height with center-hinged tilt-down mechanism for easy servicing.
- L-806: 3.0 m (10 ft) height with frangible base coupling.
- Engineered to withstand tropical and coastal corrosive environments.
Standards & Lighting
Standards: SKYWIND™ meets FAA AC 150/5345-27E specifications for wind cone assemblies and ICAO Annex 14 Volume I.
Illumination: Available with top obstruction beacon (Style 1-A, Red LED) and internal LED floodlighting (Style 1-B) ensuring compliant photometric dispersion for night operations.

Available in standard dimensions: Size 1: Length 2.5 m (8 ft), Throat diameter 0.45 m (18 in). Size 2: Length 3.75 m (12 ft), Throat diameter 0.90 m (36 in).
